Hey guys!
Long time no talk!
It’s been quite awhile since I’ve properly posted on here.
Today’s post is a little catch up post about where I’ve been, what I’ve been up to and most importantly, why I’m back posting! My last post was well over a year ago which is crazy. In those two years so much has changed and happened in my life.
As you guys know, I went back to college as a mature student which I’m happy to say I’ve graduated and actually have a degree! It was probably one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done but I’m so happy that I persevered and got to the end. I’ll do a post on the final stage of my Mature Student Guide on graduating and what lies ahead for me.
During those two years, I figured out what (I thought) I wanted to do career wise and started the process of achieving the goal I had set myself. While this end goal has changed and the trajectory of my plan has changed a little, my desired end goal is still the same so fingers crossed I get there! In the meantime, I’m just putting my head down, building as many connections as I can and working towards my end goal.
The reason I pivoted towards posting on Instagram more and on here less was because of how time consuming this was. I wasn’t getting as many views as before and with the societal change from blogs to more social media based content, I felt that there wasn’t much of an incentive for me to post on here.
As I began the job search, I found that most media based positions require a portfolio which was something that I didn’t have as most of my social media management roles have been within agencies which involved looking after multiple clients at once or on a consultancy basis. Until I realised, I had this and my other social media channels! I’ve been running and managing my own social media channels and partnerships for over ten years so I figured I’d put an emphasis on building and growing these and hopefully it pays off!
Along this weird journey I’ve found myself on I’ve also become a model! Starting off with a small agency I then got signed by one of the biggest agencies in Ireland which still blows my mind?? I’m with the same agency that Vogue Williams is so we’re basically friends at this stage right? I decided to join as I figured it would be a nice little extra money earner
I haven’t really decided which way I’m going to pivot my content on here as I feel product reviews are better in video format rather than text so I might do topical subjects or perhaps some travel tips/guides? Feel free to let me know on Instagram what kind of content you’d like me to see post on here.
In the meantime, feel free to look back on my archive of work over the years and see where the beauty that is Naggins and Notions began!
Til next time,
Conor
